This weekend, I get to drive my Ghia back up from LA during a very probable rainstorm.
This macro will probably come back to haunt me.
Accelerating up into 4th gear in my Karmann Ghia.
I’ve found that the Ghia takes the tight turns and narrow roads of the hilly areas and canyons better than the Clubman, and I now prefer the old Volkswagen when driving the side-roads.
Driving one of the local highway circuits (the Corbett Canyon/227 Loop) in my Clubman.
The wonderful thing about California is that, if you want to get away from the major cities and have a road all to yourself, you can. This particular route is a recently-discovered favorite — in the right weather, I can almost forget I’m between two cities with populations that may be larger than some counties.
